Webinar: Assessing Projects Better Using Systems Thinking

IAIA- Western and Northern Canada Affiliate is pleased to present:

Assessing Projects Better Using Systems Thinking

An online talk and Q + A with Alan Ehrlich

Wed. October 20, 11:30 am Pacific Time, 12:30 pm Mountain Time

For decades, environmental impact assessment has evaluated impacts on individual valued components, but has rarely examined how all the impacts of a single project stack up collectively.  By looking not only at VCs, but at the interconnections between VCs (as parts of systems), we can assess the impacts of a proposed project more accurately and meaningfully. This talk will explore the use of systems thinking in environmental assessment, provide practical examples, and reflect on what this means for impact assessment.

About Alan Ehrlich

Alan has 25 years of experience conducting and reviewing environmental impact assessments in Canada and internationally.  He is the Manager of Environmental Impact Assessment for the Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board.  Alan has extensive experience dealing directly with high profile, politically sensitive environmental assessments that are in the public eye.
