This dynamic talk will explore the underlying cause of cumulative effects, and provide step by step guidance to demystify the determination of the significance of cumulative effects in environmental assessment.  It will consider how to deal with projects that add to existing cumulative impacts that are already significant, and will provide real-world examples of novel cumulative impact mitigations from Northern Canada.

About Alan Ehrlich

Alan has 25 years of experience conducting and reviewing environmental impact assessments in Canada and internationally.  He is the Manager of Environmental Impact Assessment for the Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board.  Alan has extensive experience dealing directly with high profile, politically sensitive environmental assessments that are in the public eye. Alan is a former President and NWT Regional Director of the Western and Northern Canada Affiliate of IAIA.
