BC Environmental Assessment Office Information Session

Please join us on June 30th from 9:30-11:00 am for an information session with BC Environmental Assessment Office staff. Presenters will be Rumon Carter, Director, Engagement and Digital Services and Erin Scraba, Manager of Policy and Legislation.

Topics to be discussed include:

9:40-10:15: From e-PIC to EPIC: the EAO’s Service Modernization Project. Rumon will lead IAIA affiliates through a demo of the new EAO Project Information & Collaboration system and share anticipated features of both the public and proponent platforms, how these features will improve understanding and usability of the EA process, and expected release dates.

10:20-10:55: updates on recent guidance on project descriptions, certificate extensions, substantial start determinations and the certificate exemption process under s. 10(1)(b) of the Environmental Assessment Act. We will also be previewing upcoming guidance on applying for certificate amendments and the environmental assessment certificate drafting process. Questions will be welcome throughout the presentation; dedicated time for a conversation on how to enhance EAO’s policy outreach with IAIA affiliated practitioners will be reserved from 10:45-10:55.
